Refunds and Returns

The Basics

The products sold on this sites are visit units (with estimated numbers of leads). The number of leads is dependent on the type of interactions with the site (B2B or B2C) and therefore the number of leads cannot be guaranteed.

Units are allocated to the selected site immediately when the purchase if made. These units therefore cannot be returned or redeemed.

The user enters the URL for the site to which the subscription or units will be allocated to. When this is done, a number of checks are carried out to ensure that the user can only purchase units for a site that he/she is allowed to purchase the units. The checks are as follows:

  1. The URL must be valid
  2. If the domain is not already on the site then this domain is allocated to the user and the transaction will proceed.
  3. If the domain already exists on the site then the user must have access to the domain before units can be purchased.

Once units are purchased, these are allocated and cannot be refunded.

The Subscription and PAYGO Model

This approach uses the concept of a ‘bucket’ of units allocated to a site (i.e. a domain). This ‘bucket’ can be updated at any time by the purchase of PAYGO units or by subscription.

The Units

  • These are not redeemable and have €0 value once purchased.
  • Units belong to the site and not to the user.
  • There is a limit to the number of units that can be held in the ‘bucket’. This number is very high 100K. Once this limit is reached, the excess units are lost at the end of the month during the clean-up.
  • The person paying for units is responsible for ensuring that the limit is not exceeded. Visibility of the allocation and limit are provided in the dashboard.
  • Units have a nominal lifetime of 3 years.
  • Units are held on the back-end Leads database on not on the WordPress database.

The User

  • Any user can purchase units for a new site or a site to which he/she has access.
  • A site is marked as claimed once a user has purchased units for the first time and has registered the site.
  • Any number of users can have access to the site information, but this access has to be granted by an existing member or an administrator.
  • Any user who has access to the site can add a subscription or can purchase units.

The System

  • The Leads5050 application is referred to as ‘The System’.
  • The purpose of the system is capture of information relating to visits and leads for a particular site (domain).
  • This data capture is reliant on the existence of valid units allocated to the site.
  • Limited data capture takes place if there are no units.
  • There is no charge for using the front-end of the system. The charge is for the units purchased that allow the capture of site data.

The Site

  • The site is defined by the domain. A domain can only exist once on the system.
  • There is a free monthly allocation of units applied to every registered site.
  • Nominally free usage can continue for up to 12 months.
  • Visits are dealt with based on the number of units in the ‘bucket’. If these expire then a limited amount of data is captured.

Subscription

The key to a subscription is that the units are immediately added to the ‘bucket’ when the subscription payment is made. If the subscription is changed or stopped, this has no impact as the units are already purchased and belong to the site.
  • Subscription units do not expire.
  • Subscription units cannot be redeemed or refunded.
  • These can be any number of subscriptions running against any site. This is because any user who has access to the site can add a subscription or can purchase units.
  • While any purchased units belong to the site, the subscription payment is owned by a user and not the site. Therefore, only that user can stop or change the subscription.
  • Subscriptions cannot be changed. However, subscriptions can be cancelled without impacting the number of available units or the data capture. A new subscription can then be purchased.
  • It is possible for a user to have more than one subscription running against any domain (site)

Pay-as-you-go or PAYGO

  • PAYGO units do not expire.
  • PAYGO units cannot be redeemed or refunded.
  • PAYGO units can be purchased by any user who has access to the site.
  • PAYGO units can be purchased at any time as a top-up and are not dependent on whether there is an existing subscription or not.

Free Allocation 50 (The exception)

If the number of units in the account is less than the free allocation (50 units at present), then this is updated to 50. These units do not accrue.
